Job Description

Position Overview

At Jacobs we are challenging today to reinvent tomorrow. As an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer, you will join our People & Places Solutions business to work on state‑of‑the‑art industrial and commercial facilities. You’ll collaborate within a multi‑disciplinary team to design and optimize control systems that power mission‑critical operations, ensuring compliance with building codes and industry standards while delivering innovative engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks while adhering to client expectations, scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Provide on‑site assistance during startup and coordinate work activities with other staff and discipline leads.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and designers to develop and optimize control systems for new facilities.
  • Develop P&IDs, size valves, specify instrumentation, and document and model design information.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes and industry standards while delivering world‑class solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Control Systems, or Electrical Engineering
  • At least 2 years of experience working with Instrumentation and Control

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of DDC, PLC, DCS, and other controls applications
  • Experience working with Data Centers
  • Engineer in Training (EIT)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Forward thinking with a passion for learning and innovation
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within multi‑disciplinary teams
  • A passion for buildings and construction
