Position Overview
Rover is on a mission to make pet care easier and more accessible, and we’re seeking a Director to own our end-to-end pet parent lifecycle marketing strategy. In this role, you will lead a small team, develop innovative messaging and customer journey strategies, and work cross-functionally with marketing, product, analytics, and business development teams to drive acquisition, engagement, and retention. Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Ownership: Define the comprehensive pet parent lifecycle strategy across multiple brands, projects, and go-to-market (GTM) campaigns.
- Messaging Strategy: Lead the end-to-end messaging approach across owned channels using next best action models and predictive insights to drive engagement, retention, and repeat usage.
- Content Optimization: Continuously refine messages throughout the customer journey to ensure relevance.
- Data and Deployment: Collaborate on data strategy and facilitate scalable message deployment via Iterable.
- Audience Expertise: Serve as the authority on the Pet Parent audience by leveraging analytics, operations, and consumer research.
- Customer Experience: Advise product, marketing, and operations on optimizing the overall Pet Parent customer journey.
- Learning & Experimentation: Develop annual learning agendas and experiments to continuously improve strategies.
- Performance Monitoring: Establish booking targets, monitor lifecycle channel reporting, and provide regular campaign updates.
- Strategy Implementation: Create business briefs for new lifecycle needs and collaborate with stakeholders for timely execution.
- Customer Journey Mapping: Develop journey maps and partner with the UX team to ensure cohesive experiences.
- GTM Liaison: Act as a liaison for Marketing product GTM plans with internal stakeholders.
- Campaign Execution: Partner with Lifecycle Operations and Programming to ensure timely campaign delivery.
- Team Leadership: Performance manage and develop a team of strategists and campaign operators.
- Industry Awareness: Stay informed on new features, technology, and AI innovations within the industry.
- Objective Management: Create, manage, and track quarterly OKRs.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of Lifecycle/CRM experience.
- 4+ years of people management experience.
- Proven success in creating lifecycle marketing strategies that drive business and revenue goals.
- Experience building models and working with business targets.
- Proficiency in managing email, push, web, and in-app campaigns with large ESPs (Iterable preferred).
- Customer-focused with hands-on experience in customer journey mapping.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, problem-solve, and advance projects effectively.
- Strong strategic and partnership skills.
- Experience tracking and analyzing marketing campaigns.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to create effective business rhythms that inform key stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented self-starter who thrives in fast-paced environments.
- Up-to-date with the latest lifecycle marketing trends and standards.
- College degree or equivalent experience.

- Social, Paid, and Digital Marketing experience.

- Compensation: In the greater Seattle area, the first year salary range is $182,290 - $242,446 along with a long-term incentive plan based on company performance. Final cash compensation is determined by candidate experience, qualifications, skills, and abilities.
