As a Measurement Specialist, you will work independently to provide technical assistance in accurately measuring production oil and gas. You will proactively optimize measurement accuracy and efficiency, develop analytical reports and tools, and drive continuous improvement in methodologies for complex oil and gas challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of advanced techniques for complex gas and oil balancing issues while guiding junior professionals.
- Communicate and collaborate with regulatory bodies (BLM, Texas RRC, NDIC, and NMAC) to ensure compliance with measurement standards.
- Coordinate the development, review, and distribution of analytical data and reports to validate the accuracy of measurement data.
- Work closely with SCADA systems, field operations personnel, and measurement technicians to ensure reliable data collection.
- Lead data gathering and integration efforts, create quality check tools, and mentor on complex measurement data systems.
- Troubleshoot complex gas and oil balancing issues using analytical skills to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Provide input to measurement vendors, engineers, and marketers to establish and enforce effective measurement standards.
- Collaborate with engineering groups to advise on measurement equipment selection, fit-for-purpose considerations, and maintenance requirements.
- Lead and complete strategic, concurrent projects involving multiple functional areas.
- Serve as a technical expert and mentor by offering recommendations, software training, and support while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in any related discipline (required)
- 8+ years of relevant experience in E&P Operations, measurement standards, and regulatory compliance
- Proven ability in troubleshooting, data analysis, and working with complex measurement systems
- Strong communication skills and demonstrated experience working with regulatory bodies
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferred)
- Familiarity with FLOWCAL, Test-it, and SCADA systems
- Working understanding of electronic flow meters and Remote Terminal Units
- Experience in reviewing gas and liquid balance configurations and associated volumetric data
- Knowledge of API, GPA, and AGA Measurement Standards
- Competencies in Oral & Written Communication, Results Orientation, Active Learning, Digital Literacy, Business Acumen, and Project Management
