Job Description

Position Overview

The School District of Clayton is seeking a Chief Technology Officer beginning July 1, 2025. The CTO will collaboratively develop and implement the District's strategic technology vision, ensuring alignment with its mission and goals. In this role, the CTO leads the integration of technology across schools and District offices, manages information systems for both instructional and operational needs, and optimizes technology resources to enhance learning environments and District operations. Reports to: Superintendent

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and vision for the District's technology initiatives.
  • Develop and implement strategic technology plans aligned with the District's mission.
  • Oversee the integration of technology into instructional and operational environments.
  • Collaborate with the Superintendent, principals, and technology staff to ensure effective technology use.
  • Manage technology infrastructure, budgeting, vendor relationships, and policy implementation.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a technology organization with increasing responsibility.
  • At least 2 years of experience leading a technology organization or large-scale technology initiatives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, computer science, public or educational administration, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of system architectures, network infrastructure, software development life cycle, and enterprise-wide technology projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior CTO experience is preferred.
  • Experience in a pre-K to 12 school setting.
  • Experience with Student Information Systems and Data Management.

Benefits & Perks

  • Salary Range: $140,000-$160,000
