Local to PHX - AI/Machine Learning Engineer

Position Overview

Insight Global is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to work in a hybrid environment in New York City (Financial District) or Phoenix, AZ. Joining a team of 4, including a direct leader, this role supports a growing Center of Excellence within a large financial institution. The engineer will work hands-on with cutting-edge technology—incorporating AI and Machine Learning into applications that assist with risk, compliance, and fraud investigations—using tools such as Python, Java, GCP, SQL, PySpark, and Hive.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the team to design, build, and deploy AI/ML models, including classical ML, Generative AI, LangChain, and NLP solutions.
• Integrate AI/ML components into existing applications in both batch and real-time environments.
• Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including data dictionaries, model descriptions, and code annotations.
• Utilize and optimize data pipelines while working with Python, Java, GCP, SQL, and related technologies.
• Communicate effectively within cross-functional teams including risk, compliance, and fraud investigation units.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying AI/ML models, including classical ML techniques and generative AI.
• In-depth knowledge of machine learning algorithms, software architecture, libraries, and frameworks.
• Strong programming experience in Python and Java, along with proficiency in developing and optimizing data pipelines.
• Familiarity with basic UNIX commands, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Big Data ecosystems including MapReduce, Hive, Spark, and PySpark.
• Exposure to Java and/or Kotlin, and working with NoSQL databases.
• Experience guiding models through AI/ML governance processes in regulated industries.
