Job Description

Position Overview

Distribution Customer Service Representative for Central Valley Company – South Fresno, CA. We are a 50+ year old, well-known company in our industry that ships products nationally and internationally. The role involves ensuring accurate processing of customer inquiries and orders while maintaining comprehensive product knowledge. Compensation: $18 - $20 per hour, based on experience. This is a temporary-to-hire opportunity (Monday through Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM with some overtime during peak season).

Key Responsibilities

  • Handling a high volume of customer inquiries about product availability, pricing, and shipping.
  • Processing orders, forms, applications, and requests.
  • Maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of products and services to provide accurate information.
  • Resolving customer complaints in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Keeping detailed records of customer interactions, transactions, comments, and complaints.
  • Communicating and coordinating with colleagues as necessary.
  • Providing feedback on the efficiency of the customer service process.
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction and delivering professional support.
  • Tracking shipments using courier systems (UPS, FedEx) and resolving issues.
  • Assisting in the preparation of sales reports and data analysis.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 months of customer service experience, preferably in distribution or logistics.
  • Strong knowledge of the distribution industry including shipping, tracking, and bills of lading.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Proficient in data entry with a good working knowledge of MS Office and relevant software.
  • Experience with UPS and FedEx systems is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of sales and pricing strategies.
  • High degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
