Position Overview
The Nevada Associate Director of Marketing and Communications implements and manages marketing and communications strategies for The Nature Conservancy’s Nevada Business Unit (NVBU) while serving as the primary marcoms partner for the Climate and Renewable Energy priority. In this role, you will provide direction over marketing programs and initiatives, coordinate with division teams and key stakeholders – including NV BU leadership, the Climate and Renewable Energy program director, board members, and government relations teams – to ensure that marketing programs are efficiently executed and aligned with strategic goals. You will also manage budgets, oversee branding initiatives, and provide direct counsel to leadership.
Location: Must be in the office at least 2 days per week at the Las Vegas or Reno office.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and manage strategic marketing and communications plans aligned with NVBU goals.
- Serve as the primary marcoms partner for the division’s Climate and Renewable Energy priority.
- Oversee marketing programs and projects, including staff supervision and cross-team collaboration.
- Manage budgets, operational delivery, and ensure branding principles are consistently applied.
- Provide direct counsel to the NV BU leadership team and lead strategic initiatives spanning philanthropic, conservation, and policy functions.
Required Qualifications
- Multi-lingual skills appreciated.
- Multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience preferred.
- Management experience with the ability to lead, motivate, set objectives, and manage performance and conflict resolution.
- Ability to foster an environment of creativity and professional growth.
- Excellent writing, presentation, communication, mediation, and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge and experience in communicating about climate and renewable energy initiatives.
- Expert understanding of current and evolving trends in relevant marketing disciplines.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgeting and financial planning for marketing programs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of 8 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience supervising staff and teams.
- Demonstrated experience in cultivating and managing client relationships.
- Proven skills in project management, developing marketing strategies, and measuring results.
Compensation
The starting pay range for this position is generally within the range of $80,000 - $100,000 for candidates employed in the USA. The final compensation will be determined based on factors such as location, skills, and experience.
