Position Overview

At CVS Health, we’re building a world of health around every consumer while surrounding ourselves with colleagues passionate about transforming health care. As the nation’s leading health solutions company, we reach millions through a vast local presence, digital channels, and over 300,000 purpose-driven team members. In our Telepharmacy Remote Dispensing Pharmacy (RDP) locations, we bring our promise to life every day.

In this role as a Telepharmacy Technician, you will support daily pharmacy operations under Pharmacist oversight from a separate supervising location. You will build on the traditional Pharmacy Technician responsibilities by managing day-to-day operations, executing SOPs, and ensuring service excellence. Whether fulfilling prescriptions, managing inventory, or providing compassionate patient care, you contribute to a safe, inclusive, and high-performing team environment.

Salary: $17.00 - $27.00 per hour
Schedule: Full time, 30 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help the pharmacy team manage and improve patient health.
  • Oversee the safe and secure operation of the Remote Dispensing Pharmacy by serving as a keyholder, maintaining alarm and safe codes, and safeguarding the integrity of products – with extra care for refrigerated items and controlled substances.
  • Adhere to pharmacy workflow procedures (production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off) to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
  • Complete all tasks related to controlled substance prescription fulfillment including counting, image capture, and inventory management.
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by offering empathetic care, personalized service, and by addressing or escalating issues as needed.
  • Perform inventory activities such as receiving medication deliveries, cycle counts, and returns-to-stock to maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Participate in a high-performing team by embracing a growth mindset and actively seeking to expand clinical and technical knowledge.
  • Remain flexible and adaptable for scheduling and business needs, including voluntary travel to other stores as required.
  • Serve as a peer mentor to onboard, train, and develop new hires within the Telepharmacy Remote Dispensing Pharmacy.
  • Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and CVS policies to ensure patient safety and privacy.
  • Deliver additional patient health care services when the pharmacist is on-site, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing when permitted and supported by training.
  • Support immunization efforts by completing necessary licensure and training, educating patients about vaccines, monitoring for adverse reactions, collecting patient data, and managing vaccine supplies.
  • Uphold essential functions including regular attendance (nights and weekends), focused task execution, effective communication, mathematical reasoning, problem resolution, and the physical demands of the role.

Required Qualifications

  • Must comply with state board of pharmacy requirements or applicable laws governing pharmacy practice, including age, education, and licensure/certification.
  • If no minimum age is mandated, must be at least 18 years old.
  • If no educational requirement is provided, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in a qualifying program.
  • National Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) is required.
  • State-level licensure requirements vary by state.
  • 1+ years full-time experience as a Pharmacy Technician; CVS Pharmacy Technician experience is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Advanced Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT-Adv) certification.
  • Ability to become immunization certified.
  • Previous experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
  • Experience in an Inventory Specialist role.
  • Flexibility to work in the home store and other market locations as needed.

Benefits & Perks

  • Benefits: Affordable medical plan options, a 401(k) plan (including matching company contributions), and an employee stock purchase plan.
  • No-cost programs for wellness screenings, tobacco cessation, weight management, confidential counseling, and financial coaching.
  • Benefit solutions that include paid time off, flexible work schedules, family leave, dependent care resources, colleague assistance programs, tuition assistance, retiree medical access, and more (eligibility applies).
