Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a Software Engineer (Entry to Junior Level) to join our dynamic team at woodcons.com in San Antonio, Texas, USA. This full-time position (Day Shift, no telework) offers Competitive Compensation: Salary Range: $125,000 to $200,000 (starting salary is based on minimum education and years of experience with increases for higher credentials). Key Responsibilities

  • Understand user needs and design software solutions.
  • Fix bugs in existing software and integrate updates.
  • Suggest improvements to documentation and development processes.
  • Create new software or add features to existing systems.
  • Integrate software into new or existing systems.
  • Write and review software documentation and data queries.
  • Lead a team or collaborate as part of a team based on experience.
  • Design and implement complex database queries and algorithms.
  • Develop, execute, and support tests for software components.
  • Analyze system performance and troubleshoot issues with users or engineers.
  • Modify software to fix errors, adapt to new hardware, or improve performance.
  • Utilize scientific analysis and mathematical models in design.
  • Ensure products meet quality standards and recommend new technologies or processes.
  • Delegate tasks and monitor team performance as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Entry Level: No prior experience required; Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution is required. Up to four (4) years of SWE experience on similar projects may substitute for the degree.
  • Junior Level: Seven (7) years of SWE experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity; Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline; Up to four (4) years of equivalent SWE experience may substitute for the degree.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active TS/SCI Security Clearance and Polygraph.
