Software Engineer, Full Stack - Developer Console

Position Overview

Join the Developer Console team at DoorDash where you’ll build and develop tools that serve hundreds of engineers internally. Our mission is to improve the developer experience through innovative internal products, including our Developer Console powered by Backstage.io. As part of a platform team that supports multiple product teams, you’ll work in a dynamic, collaborative environment focused on building a strong engineering community.

Location Requirement: You must be located in San Francisco, CA; Sunnyvale, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Seattle, WA; or New York, NY.

Key Responsibilities

• Introduce cutting edge technologies to our engineering organization, including tools built on LLMs.
• Build new features for Developer Console using Backstage.io.
• Improve the developer experience for all engineers.
• Work and collaborate across team boundaries.
• Contribute features and bug fixes to upstream open-source projects.
• Mentor and educate your peers.
• Lead the team in technical discussions while assisting in roadmap planning and feature measurement.
• Represent the team at large during OKR reviews and engineering all hands presentations.
• Define a vision for the future of the team and inspire everyone to work towards it.
• Efficiently switch between frontend, backend, and data challenges as needed.

Required Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in web technologies using Typescript with React on the frontend and Java, Kotlin, Python, or Go on the backend.
• A strong product mindset with the ability to build robust platform services.
• Solid competency in both systems and software engineering.
• Curiosity to dive deep into different system architectures.
• Organized with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Compensation: Base salary ranging from $130,600 to $192,000 USD, with additional opportunities for equity grants based on job-related factors such as skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions.
