TRC is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated Mechanical Project Engineer to support our commercial and industrial energy program implementation. Responsibilities include energy engineering analyses, project QA/QC, on‐site inspections, energy modeling, and customer meetings – all within Nashville, Tennessee and the TVA service territory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site inspections to verify installations are consistent with designs and scopes of work.
  • Draft and implement Measurement & Verification Plans, including field instrumentation and meter deployment.
  • Perform energy audits for commercial customers to identify potential energy efficiency improvements.
  • Conduct energy analysis and whole building modeling (simulations).
  • Identify operations and maintenance energy savings opportunities in buildings.
  • Deliver high quality reports requiring minimal quality control efforts.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines and client expectations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and contractors to ensure deliverables exceed expectations.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize, document requirements, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to quickly learn new material and think holistically through complex technical and non-technical challenges.
  • Proven problem-solving ability with a proactive and collaborative team style.
  • Exceptional organizational, time-management, and planning skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to develop strong relationships with key stakeholder groups.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineering experience: 2-5 years’ in a similar role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Certifications such as AEE, IEEE, ASHRAE, ASME, etc. are a plus.
  • Experience with energy modeling software is highly desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical and program concepts.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM technologies.
  • Valid driver's license as the position entails travel.

Compensation & Additional Information

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the salary range is determined by experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: The employee may be eligible for the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program, contingent on performance against key performance indicators.

Salary Range: USD $70,000.00 - USD $80,000.00 per year.
