Position Overview
At ExtraHop, we're on a mission to help organizations achieve complete visibility, real‑time threat detection, and proactive security through cutting‑edge network detection and response (NDR) technology. Our market‑leading NDR product empowers customers to detect, investigate, and respond to threats faster than ever before. As a Senior Product Manager for Cloud Security, you will join a world‑class product management team and play a pivotal role in conceptualizing and building innovative cloud and Kubernetes security solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Own product strategy and roadmap for packet sensors, packet stores, record stores, and platform management functionalities integral to the NDR platform.
- Drive requirements for physical hardware appliances and virtual/cloud‑based sensor solutions.
- Lead Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) integration to enhance platform capabilities and market reach.
- Manage platform administration, including device lifecycle management, health monitoring, audit logging, configuration management, and diagnostics.
- Oversee advanced sensor administration tasks including sensor connectivity, network interface management, and throughput optimization.
- Ensure robust network configurations through management of static routes, IPv6 interfaces, bond interfaces, and proxy settings.
- Enhance system security and user management through secure authentication methods (LDAP, SAML, RADIUS, TACACS+), API access management, and global policies enforcement.
- Build strong relationships with customers, prospects, and internal teams to gather insights and validate product direction.
- Translate technical platform features into clear, compelling business value for customers and stakeholders.
- Partner closely with engineering teams to deliver high‑quality platform enhancements.
- Monitor market trends in hardware, virtualization, storage technologies, and administrative tools to guide product strategy.
- Engage with customers, prospects, partners, and teams to understand cloud and Kubernetes security use‑cases, evangelize the product vision, discuss the roadmap, and gather feedback.
- Drive the strategy and roadmap for cloud and Kubernetes security capabilities across public cloud environments and diverse Kubernetes deployments.
- Identify and vet new opportunities to expand cloud‑native and Kubernetes security monitoring; plan execution in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
- Define and articulate the product vision for cloud and Kubernetes security, balancing established functionality with emerging cloud‑native security requirements.
- Partner with engineering to bring innovative cloud and Kubernetes security capabilities to market.
- Develop a deep understanding of cloud security architectures, Kubernetes orchestration, and related technologies such as eBPF to inform product direction.
- Translate complex cloud and Kubernetes security concepts into clear value propositions for customers and internal stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in product management, with at least 2+ years focused on cloud and/or Kubernetes security products.
- Deep understanding of cloud security frameworks and categories (CSPM, CWPP, CNAPP, CIEM) and their associated capabilities.
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, security posture management, and runtime security monitoring in Kubernetes environments.
- Experience with cloud‑native monitoring technologies, particularly eBPF and its applications for Kubernetes security and observability.
- Ability to quickly prototype using Python or JavaScript for cloud and Kubernetes automation and security workflows.
- Proven track record of successfully launching and growing cloud and Kubernetes security products or features.
- 3+ years of security domain experience with a preference for cloud and Kubernetes security product management, threat research, or security engineering.
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes‑specific security threats, attack vectors, and defensive capabilities.
- Excellent writing and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with sales, customers, and partners.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment with experience in Agile development methodologies.
- Willing to travel 10% (US travel).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with multiple cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their managed Kubernetes offerings.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes security best practices, including Pod Security Standards, RBAC, and network policies.
- Experience with Kubernetes observability, logging, and monitoring solutions.
- Understanding of cloud‑native security tools in the Kubernetes ecosystem (e.g., OPA/Gatekeeper, Falco, Trivy).
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipeline security for Kubernetes deployments.
