Job Description
Position Overview
BioForm Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Part-Time Laboratory Technician to support product testing and QC-aligned laboratory work. This role requires strong bench skills, careful documentation, and the ability to operate effectively in a small, early-stage company environment. The ideal candidate is organized, flexible, and collaborative, with QC experience preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine product testing according to established methods, protocols, and SOPs
- Support QC-focused workflows, including sample preparation, measurements/inspections, repeat testing, and basic verification checks
- Maintain accurate and complete laboratory documentation, including labeling, traceability, and timely recording of results
- Prepare reagents, buffers, and consumables; manage sample handling, storage, and disposal
- Assist with lab organization and inventory management (restocking, tracking supplies, maintaining an orderly workspace)
- Support basic equipment care and maintenance, including cleaning, routine checks, and maintaining logs as assigned
- Communicate results clearly and collaborate with colleagues to troubleshoot issues and improve processes
- Follow all applicable laboratory safety practices and procedures
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of relevant laboratory experience
- Demonstrated good laboratory technique (e.g., accurate pipetting, contamination awareness, careful sample handling)
- Strong attention to detail with a consistent record of accurate documentation and data integrity
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively in a collaborative team environment
- Must be based in San Diego and able to work on-site as scheduled
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior Quality Control experience (method adherence, repeatability/consistency-focused testing, documentation best practices)
- Ability to analyze data (e.g., reviewing results for trends/outliers, basic calculations, and use of analysis software)
- Experience supporting assay development and testing in an R&D environment
Work Hours & Compensation
- Part-time: approximately 10–20 hours per week
- Hours scheduled in coordination with testing needs; flexibility is valued
- Compensation: hourly; commensurate with experience
- Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
- Expected hours: 10.0 – 20.0 per week
- Work Location: In person
