Position Overview
Cepheid, one of Danaher’s 15+ operating companies, is dedicated to saving lives through innovative molecular diagnostic systems. As the Territory Sales Executive for the North Houston, Texas market, you will drive sophisticated hospital sales for GeneXpert® Systems and a portfolio of 20+ diagnostic tests – including Xpert® Xpress SARS-CoV-2/Flu/RSV. You’ll work remotely, harnessing new diagnostic concepts to directly impact patient care in a culture that values innovation, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with laboratory, pharmacy, infection control, nursing management, emergency department, risk management, and physician partners to identify leads and grow market share.
- Drive demand for and adoption of new assays and instrumentation to deliver on quarterly and annual revenue sales targets and to improve profit margins on equipment, reagent, and service contract sales.
- Optimize cycle time using Salesforce.com (CRM tool) to maintain account activity, drive market share, and prioritize the sales funnel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of related healthcare sales experience (preferably in laboratory diagnostics) or Master’s degree with 3+ years of related experience.
- Proven sales success, particularly in selling premium-priced products.
- Experience engaging multiple call points within hospital settings, both inside and outside the laboratory.
- Ability to pass vendor credentialing requirements.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time and reside within the assigned territory.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in using Salesforce CRM.
- Expertise in demand creation for ground-breaking technologies versus replacement technology.
- Experience engaging multiple call points within alternate-site markets.

- Compensation: Salary range of $100,000 - $105,000 with a total compensation target of $200,000 - $205,000 annually, including commission and bonus/incentive pay.
