Position Overview

This role provides an excellent introduction to an insurance company’s agricultural mortgage platform at MetLife Investment Management (MIM). The Global Real Estate and Agricultural Investments team manages a portfolio of commercial real estate, agricultural mortgages, and real estate equities – including an agricultural portfolio of approximately $23 Billion that plays a key role in MetLife’s asset-liability matching program. This position offers the opportunity to develop analytical capabilities in institutional agricultural lending and investment management, while enhancing personal credentials and building relationships across Agricultural Finance and other business units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support mortgage originations, servicing actions, and portfolio management in a MetLife Agricultural Finance field territory; travel to borrower locations or the office may be required.
  • Assist relationship managers in developing mortgage recommendations, including financial, security, and borrower/industry analyses and due diligence.
  • Monitor regional mortgage portfolio exposure tied to risk management objectives and help update internal mortgage portfolio guidelines.
  • Support regional associates in developing creative and unique regional marketing campaigns.
  • Coordinate and complete special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of agricultural finance experience and skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience in production agriculture.
