The Finance Analyst is an entry level role focused on supporting a project in accounting and finance functions. Working on projects run like small businesses, you will handle critical tasks including cost control, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, human capital management, and compliance. You will develop expertise in processes associated with labor, construction equipment, materials, and subcontract costs and revenues while playing an integral role in month-end close and financial reporting.
Kiewit's Bridge & Marine District, headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, leads in heavy civil, marine, and industrial construction across North America. Key Responsibilities
- Recognize the importance of being a team player by adapting to project needs and assisting in other areas as required.
- Foster relationships with the Operations team and display a willingness to learn about the work.
- Understand the payroll and HR process workflow, mastering systems used for hiring, transferring, terminating, and paying employees.
- Comprehend purchasing processes including receipt and payment of invoices, maintaining internal purchasing workflow controls.
- Demonstrate a clear grasp of the accounts payable process and troubleshoot payment or vendor issues when they arise.
- Understand intercompany and client billing processes, emphasizing the importance of timely and accurate billing documentation.
- Ensure all cost entries and adjustments are reviewed for accuracy in compliance with company standards and accounting rules.
- Review cost reports, quantity claims, budget structures, and exceptions, making corrections as needed for accurate management reporting.
- Identify, adjust, and review forecast and budget issues to ensure proper recognition of costs and revenues.
- Exemplify first-rate customer service by maintaining a positive attitude and aiding team members.
- Maintain an organized work environment, manage time effectively, and communicate in a clear, concise manner.
- Follow the Corporate Compliance Program and collaborate with the compliance department to adhere to all EEO and labor laws at the project level.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to travel and relocate initially and throughout your career as business needs require.
- 0-2 years’ financial or data analysis experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Business Management, or a related field.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Effective oral and written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies.
- A positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and passion for continuous improvement.
- Must be able to access all parts of a construction site in diverse climates and environments.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Must have a valid Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship experience is preferred.
- Experience working with Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, and other key Excel functions is a plus.

- Compensation: $72,800.00 - $85,904.00 (Actual compensation may vary based on education, experience, skill set, and location.)
