Insurance Operations Intern - General (2026)

Position Overview

Join NICO National Indemnity Company as part of an exciting 11‑week summer Insurance Operations Intern program located in Omaha, NE. In this role, you will work on a capstone project, participate in leadership panel discussions, receive direct mentorship, contribute valuable work in your department, and engage in volunteer opportunities. This program offers the stability of a large company within a friendly, small‑company atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

• Work in one of the following departments with opportunities to job shadow in others: Underwriting, Claims, Client Services, Data Warehouse, Software Development, Mainframe Development, Pricing, Marketing, Human Resources, Information Technology, Legal, Internal Audit, and Regulatory Compliance.
• Participate in department-specific tasks for approximately 25 hours per week.
• Devote about 15 hours per week to various company‑wide learning opportunities.

Required Qualifications

• Junior’s currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree.
• Open to candidates from a variety of majors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Attention to detail with a focused work ethic.
• Basic math skills.
• Excellent grammar, proofreading, and written communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines effectively.
