Job Description
Position Overview
GEICO is seeking a highly motivated Tech Services Associate II to join our Technical Field Engineering team. This role provides on-site technical support and maintenance across our regional offices, ensuring seamless IT operations. The ideal candidate will be proactive and possess a strong technical background with expertise in hardware, software, networking, automation, and AV systems support. This is an on-site role that requires full-time presence. Schedule: Onsite 5 days a week (8:30am - 5:00pm); possible travel to other locations. Location: Tampa, FL office.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, network, VOIP, and AV systems.
- Understand core network technologies (DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, VLAN, SNMP).
- Provide direct technical support to associates both in person and remotely.
- Install, configure, and maintain IT infrastructure and equipment.
- Monitor system performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
- Engage with IT personnel for issue resolution.
- Provide on-call support for high severity incidents.
- Support Windows Server and backup solutions.
- Manage projects including office relocations, infrastructure upgrades, and technology rollouts, ensuring completion within scope and timelines.
- Document detailed notes on technical issues and projects.
- Stay updated on the latest technology trends and identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or 4 years of equivalent experience).
- Strong analytical skills with effective problem-solving ability.
- Excellent customer-facing skills.
- Ability to lift and transport IT equipment (40-50 lbs.).
- Proven ability to operate under high-pressure situations while handling multiple competing priorities.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with potential travel requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- CompTIA A+, Net+, Sec+, Microsoft AZ-800, CCNA, or Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP) certification.
- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint, Autopilot, and Intune.
- Experience in PowerShell scripting and Zscaler.
