Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable, skilled, high-energy, independent and experienced Low Voltage Field Technician to join our team. This role focuses on installing and servicing primarily surveillance systems along with access control, intercom, and structured cabling.
Work is primarily performed in medium-to-large commercial environments, where professionalism, cleanliness, and strong customer service are essential.
Technicians are expected to properly and efficiently install surveillance cameras, access points, wireless bridges, run cable, in commercial buildings and warehouses along with occasionally installing conduit when needed. A solid understanding of building construction is critical for routing and concealing cabling to devices.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, service, and troubleshoot IP and analog surveillance cameras and associated equipment, access points and wireless bridges, access control, intercom speakers, A/V, and related equipment.
- Run low voltage wiring (voice, data, CCTV) according to industry best practices.
- Perform cable pulls, device installation, head-end setup, system configuration, and client training.
- Route cabling through various environments either through conduit or open-air free wire, including new construction, existing buildings, drop ceilings, solid ceilings and open warehouses.
- Maintain job site cleanliness and ensure minimal disruption to client operations.
- Complete documentation, hang signage/stickers, and provide on-site client demonstrations.
- Travel may be throughout Florida with a company vehicle, expense coverage, and per diem.
- Independently handle installations and service calls with minimal supervision.
Schedule
- Monday – Friday, generally 7:30 AM start; workdays typically end around 4:30 PM.
- Occasional Saturdays, nights, or adjusted hours based on client needs.
Requirements
Experience with:
- Structured Network Cabling and Terminations
- Analog/IP surveillance systems (DVRs, NVRs, cameras)
- Network equipment (routers, switches, protocols)
- Low voltage wiring practices for Voice/Data/CCTV
- Hand and power tools for cabling and device installation
Other Requirements:
- Ability to read construction plans and work within building structures
- Lift heavy objects (wire spools, ladders, etc.)
- Supply personal hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers, RJ45 crimpers, voltage meter)
- Valid driver’s license with clean record
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Willingness to relocate to Tampa, Clearwater FL before starting
Related experience considered: Alarm/ Fire/Cable/Internet/Satellite Technicians, Electricians, Fiber Optic Technicians, Telecom Technicians, Network Cabling Technicians, etc.
