Position Overview

Hearts & Science is a data‐driven marketing agency known for helping confident marketers gain a business advantage in a world of personalized digital marketing. Comfluence is seeking an Associate Director, Audience & Data Strategy to join our growing team in New York. In this role, you'll dive deep into audience insights and help bring data to life, supporting strategy and planning across various business sectors including retail, entertainment, and tech.

Hybrid Role: 3 days per week in-office and 2 days remote—with potential adjustments based on business needs.

Compensation: $70,000-$125,000 USD

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of audience strategies across entertainment, e-commerce, gaming, and technology.
  • Pull, analyze, and interpret audience data from various platforms (e.g., Nielsen, MRI, GWI, and other 1P/2P/3P sources).
  • Conduct audience overlap analyses and sizing to inform segmentation and targeting approaches.
  • Collaborate with the Data Sciences team to develop custom audience approaches.
  • Synthesize complex data into actionable insights and clear recommendations for media strategy & activation.
  • Support enterprise-level transformation initiatives to advance data and technology for audience-centric planning.
  • Manage audience taxonomy implementation and maintenance in partnership with data operations.

Required Qualifications

  • 4-6 years of experience in media, audience strategy, or marketing analytics in an agency or integrated brand environment.
  • Strong proficiency with audience insights platforms including Nielsen, MRI, GWI, and others.
  • Fluency in media strategy and planning best practices.
  • Skilled in data analysis, storytelling, and translating insights into strategy.
  • Excellent written communication and business writing skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including strategy, data science, and analytics.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, Statistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience collaborating with data science or advanced analytics teams.
  • Familiarity with digital audience targeting platforms (CDPs, DMPs, DSPs).
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguous datasets and turning them into structured strategies.
