Fabricator/assembler

Position Overview

A local manufacturer in Indianapolis is seeking a skilled Fabricator/Assembler to join the 1st shift team. This Contract to Hire role is in a clean, expanding job shop with significant growth driven by a recent acquisition by Alliance Machine Systems. Work schedule is 1st shift (6:00am - 4:30pm, Monday-Thursday) with opportunities for career advancement.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize computer systems to track production orders.
• Measure and mark steel for machine operations.
• Read and interpret production documents.
• Operate drill presses and saws.
• Perform mechanical assembly using hand and power tools.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area.

Required Qualifications

• Experience with hand tools and power tools.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and production documents.
• Ability to accurately use a tape measure.
• Experience in machine operation including drill presses and saws.
• Strong mechanical assembly skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in fabrication and mechanical assembly.
• Familiarity with grinding processes.
