Job Description
Position Overview
Lucrum Consulting is currently seeking a Client Accounting Specialist who will be responsible for providing Bookkeeping services and managing client engagement, as well as contributing to process improvements and identifying new opportunities with our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Enter bills
- Print checks
- Record deposits
- Create invoices
- Reconcile statements
- Post journal entries
- Reconcile accounts
- Research and investigate inquiries
- Process payroll (interact with payroll provider)
- Review and reconcile payroll reports
- Process 1099s
- Review ledger and balance sheets
- Generate reports
- Create custom reports
- Review reports for accuracy
- Resolve problems or escalate as necessary
- Work with CPAs to prepare tax forms
- Provide information for insurance audits
- Track and complete miscellaneous business registrations
- Prioritize workload
- Track due dates of renewals
Required Qualifications
- Education: Must have completed High School. Preference for candidates with an Associate’s, BA, or BS Degree in an Accounting-related field.
- Experience: 3+ years of previous bookkeeping and/or accounting experience. Preference for candidates with contracting and construction industry experience.
- Time Management: Ability to prioritize, schedule, and manage tasks for multiple clients within established time-frames and budgets.
- Problem Solving: Recognize and anticipate issues, collaborate on solutions, and assist clients in process improvements.
- Client Management: Effectively listen and respond to client inquiries, manage scope of work, and identify additional service opportunities.
- Attention to Detail / Accuracy: Diligently review work outputs using multiple methods to ensure error-free results.
- Communication: Ability to communicate financial transactions clearly via email and telephone, with preference for those who can simplify complex accounting concepts.
- Automation / Tools: Highly proficient in QuickBooks (Desktop and Online) and Microsoft Excel, with the willingness to learn new software applications and accounting systems.
Job Location & Work Environment
- Candidate must currently reside in Charlotte, North Carolina.
- Must be willing to travel to multiple client sites and be on-site 50% of the time.
- Required to attend weekly staff meetings at our Charlotte Office.
- Option to work remote 50% of the time or from our Charlotte Office.
