Medical Biller for Mental Health Group Practice ( Mostly Remote)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented individual to serve as our Billing Support Specialist, supporting the team with billing, payroll & all things insurance.

Key Responsibilities

• Submit claims daily, correctly, and efficiently
• Verify Benefits and insert new patients into EHR and billing software
• Verify weekly co-pay and co-insurance amounts are correct
• Create, calculate, record, and patient fees schedules in a timely, organized, and courteous manner
• Calculate and Record Employee Payrolls
• Attend monthly office hours for billing support as needed
• Be a team player and demonstrate willingness to plan and grow with the role
• Stay abreast of changes to billing policies of the insurance companies and familiarize yourself with their handbooks and policies to make sure we are staying in compliance
• Ensure proper documentation protocols are being performed
• Answer emails daily and support staff
• Provide support with customer questions and concerns
• maintain your own professional liability insurance

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in medical billing and collections, particularly in mental health settings
• Proficiency in EMR and EHR systems
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and medical records management
• Knowledge of DRG, CPT coding, ICD-9, and ICD-10
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare providers
• Familiarity with medical coding practices and compliance regulations
• Billing in New York & New Jersey: 2 years (Required)
• Mental Health Billing n New York & New Jersey: 1 year (Required)

Preferred Qualifications

• well developed communication skills
• Be highly organized and masterful with tracking data in Google Sheets
• Have experience with EHR systems, mental health billing, best practices for billing in NY & NJ, experience with medicaid providers
