In the role of Brand Media Manager, you will shape how the world discovers and understands Whatnot. Your work will drive brand awareness through high-impact media investments—paired with performance marketing—to accelerate buyer and seller growth while strengthening brand consideration. This is a remote-first position that requires proximity to one of our office hubs in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, or New York City.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, buying, and optimization of all brand media campaigns across Digital, TV, Audio, and OOH channels.
  • Serve as the primary DRI for our brand media agency by managing SOWs, overseeing creative-to-media workflows, and driving weekly reporting and performance reviews.
  • Partner with agency teams to develop channel strategies, integration plans, and tactical recommendations aligned with business briefs and audience goals.
  • Deliver clear, executive-ready reporting with insights, recommendations, and forward-looking guidance.
  • Collaborate with Data Science on market-based lift measurement, upper funnel attribution, and assessing any downstream impact on performance campaigns.
  • Align Creative and Strategy teams to ensure brand content is measurable and drives quantifiable lift.
  • Support event-based marketing (e.g., OPE, Seasonal Events) through paid channels and the affiliate program.
  • Establish new processes and playbooks to optimize internal cross-functional team operations and external agency partnerships.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience managing and executing strategic, large‐scale advertising campaigns across brand media channels (Digital, TV, Audio, and OOH).
  • Proven hands-on expertise with paid media planning, buying, and optimization – either in an agency or in‑house – ideally within a high‑growth consumer brand.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex concepts for executives, cross‑functional partners, and external agencies.
  • Strong analytical skills with comfort in diving into data, interpreting analyses, and translating them into actionable recommendations.
  • A collaborative mindset with proven experience working across matrixed marketing teams and influencing without direct authority.
  • A creative and entrepreneurial approach to solving unsolved problems, building innovative processes, and discovering creative solutions.

Compensation

Compensation: $165,000/year to $195,000/year + benefits + equity.

The salary range may reflect several levels applicable to the position. Final salary will depend on level, prior experience, skills, and expertise. Note that this range is for base salary only, excluding benefits and equity.
