Position Overview

Since 1995, Nova Consulting provides professional Civil / Environmental engineering services through every stage of public infrastructure improvement – including planning, design, and construction – as well as Program / Construction Management (PM/CM) services. We are seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Engineer to assist in various public infrastructure improvement projects – an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their technical skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support projects relating to planning, design, and construction of engineering infrastructure for public agencies.
  • Utilize basic scientific principles, theories, and practices to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.
  • Prepare data, technical work plans, reports, and scientific documents.
  • Conduct field visits to project sites to investigate, record, and photograph local conditions.
  • Interpret and record data, conduct analysis, and compare findings to relevant studies and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Apply knowledge of natural sciences (chemistry, physics, biology, hydrology, and mathematics) to engineering problems.
  • Leverage CAD, GIS, and other specialized software to develop planning and design documents.
  • Prepare studies, construction documents, drawings, maps, reports, and supporting documentation/calculations.
  • Coordinate with technicians to ensure timely and accurate document or drawing preparation.
  • Collaborate with task and project managers, on-site subcontractors, and field staff; support sampling, data collection, and field documentation.
  • Assist with document preparation for regulatory agencies to obtain required permits.
  • Review analytical data for quality indicators based on well-defined guidelines.
  • Provide technical expertise and support.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering.
  • 1–3 years of experience in civil engineering or a related field.
  • Knowledge of engineering and construction principles.
  • Previous exposure to GIS, AutoCAD, and Civil3D is preferred.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Strong communication skills – written, oral, and listening – with proven interpersonal abilities for collaborative team environments.
  • Ability to review, evaluate, and verify the accuracy and viability of designs, data, reports, and other documents.
  • Capability to adhere to company standards, procedures, project budgets, and schedules.
  • Proven ability to interact positively and effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.
