Job Description

Position Overview

The Director of Marketing and Communications for Texas Ballet Theater reports to the Interim Executive Director and is based in Fort Worth and Dallas, Texas, with travel required throughout the DFW area for events and performances. Texas Ballet Theater – with a rich 60‐year history and a commitment to inclusivity and excellence – creates, presents, and tours world–class ballet while building strong community connections.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute integrated marketing and communications strategies that support organizational goals, enhance brand recognition, and drive engagement.
  • Brand Management: Oversee brand positioning and messaging across print, digital, social media, and public relations channels.
  • Campaign Development: Direct the creation, management, and evaluation of marketing campaigns including advertising, email marketing, events, and content marketing.
  • Media Relations: Build and maintain relationships with media contacts, manage press releases, and represent the organization in interviews and public forums.
  • Digital Marketing: Oversee digital initiatives including website management, SEO/SEM, social media, and analytics to optimize online presence.
  • CRM & Loyalty: Implement strategies via email, SMS, and other channels to maximize revenue from existing patrons.
  • Ticket Sales: Collaborate with the box office team to boost subscriptions, single, and group ticket sales through campaigns and promotions.
  • Merchandise Sales: Manage front-of-house duties including merchandise sales during performances (including nights and weekends).
  • Event Coordination: Coordinate all marketing events, including VIP tours and development events related to productions.
  • Liaison: Serve as the primary liaison between production venues and Texas Ballet Theater, conveying critical information as needed.
  • Customer Experience: Ensure a consistently positive patron experience at all performances.
  • Budgeting: Prepare and manage the marketing and communications budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and strong ROI.
  • Team Development: Train and manage the marketing and communications team to foster professional growth and collaboration.
  • Reporting and ROI: Monitor and report on marketing initiatives using data-driven insights to refine strategies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, or a related field (or commensurate experience).
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in marketing and communications, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven success in developing and implementing integrated marketing and communications strategies.
  • Ability to transition from high-level strategy to hands-on tactical execution.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, social media, branding, and public relations.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams effectively.
  • Experience managing budgets and working successfully with cross-functional teams.
  • Creative thinker with strong analytical and problem–solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
