Software Engineer II - Android Engineer

Position Overview

Join our Design Technology and UX Research team as an Android Engineer - Building Research Software in Android App. In this role, you will build and ship robust features for an Android app used by millions worldwide. You will own feature parity with iOS and web platforms while collaborating with mobile architecture experts and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, intuitive user experiences. Key Responsibilities

• Build and ship features for a globally-used Android app.
• Own feature parity for Android against iOS and web platforms in collaboration with the mobile architecture team.
• Deliver robust, maintainable software through solid CI/CD practices, diligent testing, thorough documentation, and active code reviews.
• Collaborate with researchers, data analysts, product managers, and designers to craft intuitive, functional experiences.
• Contribute technical insight during planning sessions, helping to scope, estimate, and prioritize work that balances innovation, quality, and impact.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field, with 2+ years of experience designing and developing Android applications.
• Broad knowledge of design patterns and proficiency in Android development using Kotlin.
• Hands-on experience with tools such as Jira, Git, X-Code, and expertise in debugging and profiling.
• Experience integrating with web services (HTTP, JSON, OpenAPI, TCP/IP) and familiarity with databases.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with survey software or form builders.
• Experience with building AI-enabled front-end applications.
