Position Overview
Frontier-Kemper, a Tutor Perini Company, is seeking a Field Engineer (Entry-Level) to join the Kensico-Eastview Connection Tunnel Project in White Plains, New York. At Frontier-Kemper, known for excellence in underground and heavy civil construction, you will work on a project valued at approximately $1.1 billion that enhances New York City’s water supply resiliency. Expected Salary: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 depending upon experience. Important: NO STAFFING AGENCY CANDIDATES WILL BE CONSIDERED and applicants must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project plans and develop a construction schedule in coordination with project-wide activities.
- Coordinate with subcontractors on advance material acquisitions and pre-construction deliverables.
- Develop and assist with obtaining quotes and drafting contracts to meet project requirements.
- Prepare construction work plan packages and coordinate pre-construction meetings, ensuring all prerequisites for construction activities are met.
- Prepare, update, and distribute work activity schedules, communicating across discipline groups and agencies for proper notifications and coordination.
- Monitor and participate daily in field construction processes, performing layout checks, technical reviews, and obtaining design engineer confirmations as needed.
- Assist with subcontract administration and permanent material suppliers by monitoring correspondence, submittals, RFIs, and performance records while maintaining accurate payment records.
- Assist in preparing monthly reports for progress payments, schedule updates, and issue resolution through factual assessments of project performance.
- Participate in change orders and claims management, identifying and resolving changing site conditions or other impacts during work planning.
- Develop quality checks and coordinate permits from appropriate entities.
- Manage and submit project close-out documentation in coordination with the client and third parties.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Experience in heavy civil construction is preferred.
- Experience with AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of construction safety and current federal & OSHA requirements.
- Familiarity with project controls techniques including cost accounting, basic estimating, forecasting, and contracts.
- Strong working knowledge of the critical path method and resource scheduling.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Primavera P6.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
- A strong work ethic and the motivation to get the job done right.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
