Responsibility as a Software QA Engineer
Reporting to the Manager of Quality Assurance the Software QA Engineer will serve as an integral part of the Product Development team responsible for testing our premiere web-based and mobile scheduling, labor management and hiring solutions products as well as plan, document, and execute functional test plans and test cases. The SQA will identify and document software defects and verify fixed defects. This role is also required to assess/analyze product specifications and verify against customer requirements.
Requirements
You are:
An end-to-end tester; adhering to checklists, frameworks, and templates is the road to success in your book. Patience and dedicated, you have a passion towards testing. You tend to be ahead of the curve with various testing techniques that are required for an engagement. You are great at multitasking, time management, understanding the assignment from the client’s point of view, and most importantly, you have a high attention to detail.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Experience defining test plans and test cases
- Experience executing tests and reporting results
- Excellent problem solving, analytical and technical troubleshooting skills
- Microsoft Windows and web expertise
- Knowledge of web applications and service-oriented architectures
- Working knowledge of database servers and writing SQL queries
- A strong commitment to improving product quality and resourceful testing mentality
- Ability to write clear and concise bug tickets using defect/ticket tracking systems
Experience with the following is a plus:
- Experience writing automated tests
- Experience using a high level scripting language (Python, Perl, Ruby)
Qualifications:
- Only: Austin based candidates will be considered.
- BS/BA: in Computer Science preferred and/or equivalent work experience.
