Position Overview

At CMTA, our collaborative and energetic team delivers consulting engineering, performance contracting, and zero energy projects with integrity and smart innovation. This Mechanical Engineer Intern position will assist Mechanical Engineers in daily activities including mechanical system design, load calculations, equipment selection, client meetings, and construction observation. Through hands-on mentorship and real-world project involvement, the intern will gain valuable technical and professional experience.

Compensation: Hourly range for new hires is $21-$23/hour based on location.

Key Responsibilities

• Correctly complete load calculations and select equipment for specific projects.
• Occasionally attend construction meetings and provide technical observation reports.
• Interact professionally with the mechanical team, other disciplines, and clients as required.
• Develop and maintain a balanced schedule to ensure projects meet deadlines.
• Seek mentorship and support to guarantee successful design outcomes and project completion.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Junior or Senior status is preferred.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and demonstrate attentive listening skills.
• A strong desire to produce quality work and grow professionally in the engineering field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
• Demonstrated commitment to maintaining high levels of integrity and ethical standards.
