Job Description
Position Overview
This is a full-time position working days from 8:30AM to 5:00PM, Monday through Friday with no weekends or holidays. The role involves assisting with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a provider (Physician or Advanced Practice Provider) while performing select clinical and clerical duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with treatments ordered by the provider under supervision of the provider or registered nurse, and perform select clinical duties.
- Interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information on patients' charts.
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations.
- Perform basic clerical duties including answering phones, maintaining records, and filing.
- Manage materials by ordering and stocking supplies, and assist in maintaining a clean, orderly environment.
- Document the provider's encounter with patients as needed.
- Record diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions as indicated by the provider.
- Transcribe patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire or job transfer (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted).
- Medical Assistant certification obtained within 3 months (90 days) of hire or job transfer (any issuing authority accepted).
- High School diploma equivalency and 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required. *Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
