Position Overview

We are now seeking a Junior Cloud Engineer based in Denver to assist in the development, deployment, and maintenance of our AWS cloud-native infrastructure. This is a perfect role for someone eager to monitor systems, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate within a dynamic, results-focused team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues as they arise
  • Maintain and support both Linux and Windows environments in the cloud
  • Automate tasks using scripting languages such as Python and Bash
  • Document processes and procedures for reference and training purposes
  • Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of AWS cloud infrastructure solutions
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to deploy and configure cloud services according to best practices
  • Stay updated on AWS technologies and best practices
  • Optimize cloud resources for cost-efficiency by monitoring resource utilization
  • Maintain AWS resources using services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, Opensearch, and Terraform
  • Automate deployment and configuration management processes using AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, OctopusDeploy, and other DevOps tools
  • Ensure the security of AWS resources by implementing IAM roles, security groups, and VPC configurations
  • Monitor and troubleshoot AWS infrastructure to address performance, availability, and security issues
  • Assist in disaster recovery planning and conduct routine backup and data retention tasks

Required Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure
  • Experience troubleshooting software applications
  • Scripting experience (Python and/or Bash)
  • Basic understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • AWS Associate level certifications
  • Terraform experience
  • Docker and containerization experience
  • Strong AWS knowledge around EC2, ECS, RDS, VPC, IAM, S3
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD pipelines)

Compensation: The pay range for this position in Colorado is ______ (yr base pay); however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This information is provided per the Colorado Equal Pay Act. Base (CEPA) pay information is based on market location.
