Customer Service/Sales

Position Overview

Customer Service/Sales associates provide fast, friendly service by actively seeking out customers to assess their needs and provide assistance. These associates learn about products using our tools and offer information to customers in order to sell an entire project. In this role, you will learn how to greet, qualify, recommend, and close every customer in your department while also handling basic responsibilities in adjacent departments. You will maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring they remain clean, shop-able, and safe. Additionally, you are responsible for providing a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies and standards, completing required safety training, promptly correcting hazards or unsafe conditions (or reporting them to the Manager on Duty), and working in a manner that does not endanger yourself, co-workers, vendors, or customers. This role involves cooperation with your Department Supervisor and other associates within your department as well as across other departments. Specific store departments may include Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, and Tool Rental. The various position types may include Department Sales, Lead Generator, Pro Account Sales, Sales Specialist, Special Services, and Customer Order Specialist.
