Cyber Security Engineer - Illumio SME with Security Clearance

Position Overview

The Cyber Security Engineer Illumio SME provides technical implementation, support, and training services for Illumio on NIPR and SIPR networks. In this role you will plan and implement security measures, analyze and document security risks and incidents, develop disaster recovery plans, and collaborate with the security team to identify network weaknesses. You will also deliver hands‐on training and provide advisory support under general supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical implementation, support, and training for Illumio across secured networks.
• Plan and implement security measures, conduct risk analysis, and develop network disaster recovery plans.
• Manage system transitions, administration, and maintenance including hardware/software installations and configuration.
• Oversee user management, system monitoring, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with STIG and security standards.
• Deliver in-person, hands-on training and provide technical advisement to leadership while supporting post-deployment operations.

Required Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret Clearance is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree with 4+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering and firewall management.
• 4+ years of experience with cloud networking and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware).
• Subject matter expertise in Illumio micro-segmentation including labeling and policy design.
• Certifications: Illumio Core Expert, IAT Level 2 Certification (or higher), CompTIA Network+, ITIL Foundation, IA Technician Level II, and at least one of the following: Network+, Server+, or Cloud+.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Suite of Tools, and Office 365.
