About CAREing Paws

CAREing Paws Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving lives through animal-assisted therapy. Our volunteer therapy teams visit healthcare facilities, schools, and community organizations to provide comfort, connection, and support.

Position Overview

CAREing Paws is seeking a creative, organized, and motivated student to join as a Social Media & Marketing Intern. This role is ideal for college or graduate students looking to gain hands-on, real-world experience in digital marketing while building a strong portfolio.

This position is primarily remote, with opportunities to accompany therapy teams on local facility visits approximately 1–2 times per month (based on your availability). Visits take place throughout Atlanta and surrounding areas, and scheduling is flexible around academic commitments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accompany therapy teams on visits to capture photo and video content (as permitted)
  • Plan, schedule, and publish social media posts across platforms
  • Manage and maintain the social media content calendar
  • Assist in developing and executing social media campaigns
  • Monitor engagement and recommend improvements based on performance
  • Create a comprehensive brand guide/kit for future organizational use (primary project)
  • Support additional marketing initiatives as needed

Qualifications

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student (or recent graduate) in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to balance coursework and deadlines
  • Basic photography and content creation skills
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn
  • Creative mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Experience with Canva or Meta Business Suite is a plus, but not required
  • Passion for animal-assisted therapy, nonprofit work, or community service is a plus

Compensation
