Job Description
Position Overview
Maximus is seeking a Lead Analyst, Finance/Accounting. This role is responsible for delivering and overseeing various indirect expense pools within the Federal Group. It reports to the Vice President of Finance and works closely with Federal Leadership, Operational Leadership, and other finance/accounting members.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare Profit and Loss analysis, including analysis of actual variances to forecasts, and assist with division level P&L responsibilities.
- Review Earned/Unbilled Reconciliations for accuracy and completeness; work with finance staff to make necessary corrections.
- Review monthly project billing submissions for adequate supporting documentation and proper approvals.
- Track outstanding Accounts Receivable reports for management review.
- Prepare quarterly revenue adjustments required to correct revenue for the impact of billed indirect rates exceeding expected actual rates.
- In conjunction with the Financial Analyst, track costs, billing/invoice adjustments, and contract-to-date expenditures for sub-contractors and temporary labor.
- Prepare Contract Information Form (CIF) for management review.
- Oversee and review monthly accruals.
- Handle ad hoc reporting requests.
- Review supporting documentation accompanying invoice packages.
- Assist in the preparation of pricing and other cost estimates, including those related to contract amendments/task orders.
- Participate in internal and external audits and maintain necessary reports and data.
- Mentor and train junior financial analysts.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Perform all indirect finance functions in accordance with company policies and manuals.
- Manage indirect pool structures and various allocation methodologies.
- Report and forecast all Federal G&A departments, Non-SCA and SCA fringe, facility and employee support service centers, and sector overhead.
- Prepare inputs to the quarterly indirect rate true-up adjustments for cost reimbursable programs.
- Develop and manage reporting for senior leadership utilizing Costpoint, Cognos, Excel, and other sources.
- Prepare and/or review financial forecasts and budgets with senior leadership.
- Coordinate with senior leadership to develop operational analysis and modeling.
- Act as a liaison between Finance and Operations.
- Track performance and provide timely variance and risk & opportunity analyses.
- Perform monthly reconciliation on accrued expenses to ensure reporting completeness.
- Monitor vendor and expense report transaction processing to ensure correct expense coding.
- Review and ensure system accuracy.
- Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting for financial and business planning.
- Prepare routine and ad hoc financial reports and analysis using proprietary tools, enterprise solutions, and Excel.
- Identify and resolve issues, problems, and concerns.
- Receive assignments, determine resource needs to meet schedules, recommend policy changes, and establish procedures.
- Develop, administer, and implement process improvements in financial analysis, planning, and reporting.
- Provide financial leadership and support.
- Interact with various levels of internal customers.
- Ensure confidentiality and security of all corporate information.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- 7-10 years of relevant professional experience.
- Additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree; Master's Degree or CPA is preferred.
- Knowledge of FAR, CAS, federal audits, and allowable/unallowable costs.
- Understanding of indirect pool structures and various allocation methodologies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong Excel and Word skills.
- Familiarity with Deltek, Cognos, Costpoint, or TM1.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and data analysis to improve financial processes.
- Ability to interact effectively with and present to executive management.
- Proven ability to coach, develop, and mentor team members.

- Compensation Range: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00
