Financial Data Analyst (contract)

Join our dynamic team in our Pittsburgh, PA office (hybrid with 4 days in office) where you will support data management and market analysis for the Bank’s and market data sources. You will compile, synthesize, and report on data, assist with database management, conduct calculations, and prepare reports. This is a contract assignment with Tundra Technical Solutions to provide services to Bank of New York (BNY); please note that this is not a full-time employment opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform data management activities in support of Mutual Fund and ETF valuation, reviewing exceptions and taking corrective action.
• Compile, synthesize, and report on the Bank’s or market data sources; support access, maintenance, and security activities while managing moderately complex databases and feeds.
• Conduct preliminary calculations, interpret findings, and prepare initial drafts of standard reports.
• Work with internal and external datasets—including client reference data—and apply querying techniques for market development analysis for securities data.
• Respond to data-related inquiries from internal and external clients and document responses thoroughly.

Required Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• 1-2 years of experience in data validation, data cleansing, and data analysis.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or a business-related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with financial market data tools such as Aladdin or Bloomberg.
• 1-2 years of relevant financial industry experience.
