Job Description

Position Overview

In this role, you will support Crum & Forster’s underwriting process by assisting with pre-quote data retrieval and validation, policy drafting and processing, and quality assurance throughout post-bind transactions. You will be an essential part of our team in the specialty and surplus lines insurance business, contributing to operational excellence and a collaborative, inclusive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide underwriting with pre-quote transaction support by retrieving reports and other data (e.g., OSHA, Safer, Crime, Experience Mods, Risk Meter), validating data entry, verifying documentation, and communicating with producers.
  • Handle post-underwriting activities by completing policy drafting using internal systems, verifying data accuracy, booking premiums accurately, issuing approved policies, and processing transactions such as endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements.
  • Collaborate with various departments and system support teams to resolve policy questions, test new releases, and ensure quality verification of all policy transactions.

Required Qualifications

  • Knowledge of insurance processes and procedures, with emphasis on surplus lines of business.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to take initiative.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and internet-based technologies.
  • Excellent math and data analysis skills, with comfort in interpreting and manipulating reported data.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
