Position Overview

Environmental Resources Management, Inc. is hiring a Managing Consultant, Climate Change Project Manager in New Orleans, LA. In this role, you will manage climate-related projects, develop GHG inventories (Scopes 1, 2, and 3), and advise clients on sustainability strategies. You will play a key role in ERM’s corporate sustainability and climate change advisory services practice by developing decarbonization strategies, guiding policy assessments, and delivering high-quality project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise and manage climate-related projects, including the design and development of comprehensive GHG inventories and decarbonization strategies.
  • Oversee the project lifecycle from scoping and budgeting to delivery, ensuring high-quality outputs.
  • Mentor and manage a team of 2-5 junior consultants, coaching them on technical reviews and effective project execution.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with clients, business partners, and key stakeholders while influencing strategic decision-making.
  • Translate complex technical data into clear, actionable recommendations for clients and senior leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in policy, law, economics, engineering, or environmental sciences (physics, chemistry, material sciences, earth sciences, etc.).
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in consultancy, the private sector (power, natural gas, hydrogen, etc.), or environmental policy.
  • Strong project management, analytical, technical writing, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to synthesize data into actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and a proven track record in managing teams and projects.
