We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MEP Installation Engineer for our chemical plant construction project in Baytown, Texas. Location: Baytown, TX, USA. The candidate will oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of Mechanical, Electrical, Piping, and Instrumentation systems while ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage the installation of MEP systems, including HVAC, power supply and distribution, lighting, fire protection, plumbing, process piping, and instrumentation equipment.
  • Review MEP design drawings, technical specifications, and related documents to ensure constructability and compliance with project requirements.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, piping, and instrumentation subcontractors to ensure construction quality, schedule adherence, and strict safety protocol compliance.
  • Conduct on-site inspections and quality checks to verify installations comply with industry codes (e.g., NEC, ASME, IPC) and local regulations.
  • Assist the construction manager by coordinating meetings and addressing on-site issues.
  • Develop and monitor installation schedules and prepare progress reports for MEP work scopes.
  • Participate in system testing, commissioning, and startup to ensure efficient and safe operation of all MEP systems.
  • Ensure all MEP installation work complies with Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) guidelines, including hazardous area classification and explosion-proof requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience Required: At least 5 years of on-site work experience with verifiable project experience.
  • Qualifications: In-depth understanding of MEP systems and relevant codes and standards (e.g., NEC, ASHRAE, NFPA, API).
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), electrical schematics, and construction drawings.
  • Practical experience in supervising, testing, and commissioning MEP system installations.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team coordination skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Willingness to work on-site under various weather conditions and adapt to project requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with automation and control systems in chemical plants.
  • Bilingual proficiency is preferred (English & Spanish, or English & Chinese).
