Position Overview
Abercrombie & Fitch Co. is a global, digitally led omnichannel specialty retailer committed to putting its people first. Our Global Data & Analytics team is the hub for harvesting and analyzing data to inform strategic decisions across our brands. We are seeking a Data Scientist with a deep focus on digital transformation and Gen AI initiatives. In this role, you will leverage advanced statistical modeling, machine learning and Gen AI techniques to enhance product discovery, personalization, and overall customer experience across digital channels. You will work closely with Digital and Decision Analytics teams to monetize customer data, optimize omni-channel sales and build advanced models that support a holistic view of the customer journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement innovative machine learning and Gen AI solutions for product and content discovery, personalization, and customer engagement.
- Develop and deploy generative AI solutions (e.g., language and vision models, agentic AI) to automate and enhance digital experiences.
- Build predictive models and recommender systems (propensity, lifetime value, churn, etc.) tailored for e-commerce.
- Integrate diverse data sources—including clickstream, text, images, and audio—into robust ML pipelines.
- Serve as an analytics subject matter expert by identifying cross-channel optimization opportunities and championing a data-informed decision-making culture.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers to ensure data integrity and scalable analytical solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and R, with familiarity on big data platforms and cloud-based ML/AI services.
- Experience with MLOps best practices; familiarity with tools such as Databricks and MLflow is preferred.
- Working knowledge of foundational text, vision, and multimodal models along with generative AI frameworks (e.g., Hugging Face, Google Vertex AI, Azure AI Foundry, LangChain).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and business audiences.
- A self-starter with a high level of motivation, commitment to continuous learning, and the ability to work under pressure independently.

- Compensation: $75,000 - $85,000 (Actual salary may vary based on skills, experience, location, and market demands)
