Position Overview

Marketing Communications Specialist reporting to Director, Human Resources. Compensation: DOE. Organizational Background: Columbia Grain International, LLC is a long-time established full-service grain company operating over 60 elevators and offices throughout WA, ID, MT, NE, and ND. With a mid-size team of over 500 employees, we pride ourselves on attracting and retaining experienced, efficient, and community-minded professionals who build lasting relationships with producers and customers both domestically and internationally. Key Responsibilities

  • Create and manage content strategies for internal and external communication channels (social media, website, newsletters, print, etc.).
  • Utilize Google Ads and Facebook advertising to create targeted ad campaigns.
  • Analyze website traffic with analytics tools to track performance metrics and adjust strategies.
  • Write and publish engaging, brand-aligned content for diverse audiences.
  • Maintain and update the company website (WordPress experience required).
  • Collaborate with regional marketing committees to ensure consistent, timely messaging.
  • Support company-wide communication efforts with visuals, flyers, and branded materials.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating company and local events, including logistics and communications.
  • Lead the internship program—from outreach and event coordination to onboarding and intern engagement.
  • Build and nurture relationships with universities to establish long-term hiring pipelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in communications, marketing, or public relations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor tone for diverse audiences.
  • Experience in planning or supporting corporate, community, or campus-based events.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with WordPress and digital tools such as Constant Contact, Canva, Adobe Suite, Microsoft 365, and Photoshop.
  • Experience managing social media content calendars and crafting platform-specific content for LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 35% to company locations, events, and partner sites.
  • A team player with a positive, proactive mindset and a passion for relationship-building.
