SME Graphic Designer

Position Overview

We are seeking a SME Graphic Designer for a 5-year engagement. This role requires a creative professional who will design documents, flyers, infographics, conference programs, social media graphics, and other communication materials. Location: Jackson, MS 39211 – Remote. Experience Required: 5+ years.

Key Responsibilities

• Design documents, flyers, infographics, conference programs, social media graphics, and other communication materials.
• Meet with The Office of Early Childhood Education to understand project needs and desired formats including printed, digital, epub, etc.
• Collaborate with The Office of Early Childhood Education to schedule projects that meet timelines, budget constraints, and overall communications plans.
• Set parameters for print production and coordinate with vendors to ensure high quality final production.
• Create or incorporate illustrations, images, and designs that reflect the desired theme and tone of the communications.
• Select type size and style to enhance text and image readability.
• Apply appropriate colors and layouts for each project.
• Produce drafts for review and revise based on feedback from The Office of Early Childhood Education.
• Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and adhere to agency brand guidelines and style sheets.

Required Qualifications

• Proficient in the use of the Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
• A strong portfolio of graphic design projects, including print layouts (flyers, programs, posters, postcards, reports, advertisements), logos, and illustrations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience creating print layouts in Microsoft Word to allow for future editing by the client.
