Position Overview
ECS Limited is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Field Technician to join its Buffalo team. In this dynamic role, you will receive on‐the-job paid training and have your certification fees covered while working under the guidance of experienced professionals. No prior experience is required. Compensation: $17-$20/hour (final rate based on location and qualifications).
Key Responsibilities
- Field Activities: Conduct observation, testing, and sampling of materials including soils, aggregates, and concrete on project sites; execute tasks under guidance of senior technicians and project managers.
- Testing Procedures: Perform routine field and laboratory tests using various methodologies and equipment in compliance with industry standards.
- Data Collection: Carry out calculations and data reduction based on samples and test results; assist with drafting and administrative tasks as needed.
- Communication: Maintain regular contact with site contractors, technicians, and project managers; report site conditions and coordinate equipment organization.
- Training and Development: Learn ECS methodologies for project observations, inspections, and testing; document findings accurately following accepted engineering practices.
Required Qualifications
- No prior experience required.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.
- Valid driver's license and insurance.
- Willingness to learn heavy construction safety practices and CMT principles.
- OSHA 10 certification may be required.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse team.
