Position Overview

We are seeking a Technical Support Advisor at Solutions By Design who will serve as the trusted point of contact for customers. In this non-exempt, full-time role, you will provide technical assistance for hardware and software issues along with troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving technical problems. Enjoy a Compensation: $64,480 per year with hourly pay starting at $31.00. This role is based in-person at Fresno, CA 93730 – not a remote position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify solutions for hardware and software issues
  • Troubleshoot a range of technical problems
  • Diagnose and rectify faults
  • Resolve networking issues effectively
  • Install and configure both hardware and software components
  • Engage with customers to swiftly uncover the root of issues
  • Provide timely and precise feedback to customers
  • Guide users through actions to solve their problems
  • Follow up to confirm that issues have been successfully resolved
  • Replace or repair necessary hardware components
  • Assist with the implementation of new applications
  • Draft operational instructions to prepare reference materials
  • Manage multiple support cases concurrently
  • Test and assess new technologies
  • Research advancements in technology to keep projects current
  • Consult with users to understand hardware and software needs and facilitate orders
  • Ensure system capabilities by testing computer components
  • Document network processes, layouts, and enhance network security

Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience in technical support, desktop support, or a similar field
  • Proficiency in Windows, Linux, and Mac OS
  • Familiarity with remote desktop applications and help desk software
  • Ability to install, modify, and perform minor repairs on computer hardware (including routers, switches, fiber optics, and CAT5/6 cables)
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts, network design, and operating systems
  • Experience with AWS and other cloud technologies
  • Capacity to convey technical information clearly to non-technical clients and team members
  • Experience with issuing SSL Certificates
  • Knowledge in DNS registration and auto-renewals
  • Experience managing third-party services such as payment gateways, email services, and social media platforms
