Salary: $31.53 - $52.24 per hour
Schedule: Night (United States of America)
Key Responsibilities
- Communicates courteously with internal and external customers in person or on the telephone.
- Demonstrates respect for co-workers and develops positive working relationships with other departments.
- Responds immediately to clinical deterioration or emergency calls.
- Provides real-time education on early warning signs, interventions, and documentation.
- Supports and coaches bedside nurses during and after rapid response events.
- Accurately documents all assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes.
- Collaborates in managing patient flow and promotes timely patient placement in accordance with hospital policies for admission, discharge, and transfer.
- Participates in peer interviewing and peer review processes.
- Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in the delivery of nursing services.
- Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health and unit-specific data for process improvement initiatives.
- Incorporates Caring Model behaviors and culturally competent care into daily practice.
- Conducts initial patient assessments, initiates consults as indicated, and identifies patient/family teaching and discharge planning needs.
- Maintains safe practice by demonstrating unit-specific clinical competency and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Performs focused and comprehensive assessments of patients experiencing acute changes.
- Adheres to organizational standards for dress and professional appearance.
- Undertakes other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Associate's of Nursing [Required]
- Experience Required: 3+ years of experience as a critical care registered nurse; experience in a specialty area [Required]
- Requirements: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, electronic EMR documentation, effective communication, critical thinking, knowledge of EPIC EMR, and EKG application and identification; ability to respond to emergencies.
- Qualifications: Registered Nurse (RN), Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS), NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) [Required]
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]
- Qualifications: Acute/Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist (CCNS) [Preferred]
- Qualifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) [Preferred]
- Qualifications: Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) [Preferred]
- Qualifications: Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) [Preferred]
