INDUSTRIAL PROJECT ENGINEER – An entry-level position in the project management career path. Responsibilities include assisting in project management tasks and progressively taking on more responsibility across various McGough industrial sectors including Agriculture (Biofuels, Oilseed), Power & Infrastructure, Pharma, Life Sciences and Tech.
Salary: $74,000 - $82,000 per year.Location: Corporate office and various jobsites as needed.
Flexibility for travel is desirable with the ability to temporarily relocate or regularly travel to project sites in the Upper Midwest region.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the pursuit team in understanding prospective projects and requirements, and participate in QA/AC page turn sessions.
- Understand self-perform capabilities, including warehouse equipment, rentals, small tools and services.
- Perform quantity take-offs and assist the project team in soliciting and reviewing subcontract bids and trade scope reviews.
- Assist the superintendent and project manager with Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling, learn the Last Planner system, and participate in daily/weekly work planning.
- Review drawings and specifications, manage electronic documents, draft and process Requests for Information (RFI), review shop drawings/submittals, and participate in BIM coordination meetings including assisting with LEED documentation.
- Assist in reviewing and processing subcontractor change requests and invoices.
- Support cost control by tracking labor costs, material procurement, cost coding, and reporting cost history data as directed by the superintendent.
- Attend project and company safety meetings, foremen's meetings (including drafting meeting minutes), construction coordination meetings, start-up meetings, and Project Assessment meetings.
- Participate in the punchlist process and assist with preparing final as-built plans and documentation.
- Engage in business development activities, establish relationships with clients, architects, engineers, consultants and subcontractors, and attend relevant meetings and training sessions.
- Support standard work practices and participate in Lean initiatives and company-sponsored events.
Preferred Qualifications
- Construction Management or related degree.
- Internship, education or field experience.
