Job Description

Position Overview

At AdaptHealth we offer full‑service home medical equipment products and services to empower patients to live their best lives out of the hospital and in their homes. We are recruiting a passionate individual for the Warehouse Technician (Driving) role. In this position you will process orders, prepare items for shipment, assist in equipment delivery, and maintain confidentiality with strict HIPAA compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process orders through data entry, update shipping information, and track orders.
  • Perform clerical tasks including faxing, scanning, filing, and handling general phone calls.
  • Prepare shipping containers in advance and generate labels.
  • Review customer lists, locate items, and assemble outgoing merchandise to fulfill requests.
  • Verify package contents against invoices or bills of lading for outgoing shipments.
  • Receive, open, and process incoming shipments; safely store items after processing packing slips or invoices.
  • Document returned items and clean equipment following Branch Maintenance and Cleaning Guidelines.
  • Adhere to procedures for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), infection control, and hazardous materials handling.
  • Maintain a clean warehouse by routinely cleaning per Standard Operating Procedures and discarding waste material daily.
  • Assist in stocking, tracking, and replenishing inventory; report stock shortages in a timely manner.
  • Monitor expiration dates of supplies to ensure timely returns or re‑inventory per company guidelines.
  • Deliver equipment when requested by following the Driving Policy and completing required driver training.
  • Educate customers in proper use and care of respiratory and home medical equipment, including completing written patient visit reports.
  • Assist with customer equipment issues under emergency conditions and process all orders in a timely, accurate manner.
  • Perform patient assessments/re‑assessments and execute routine preventative maintenance and simple repairs on equipment.
  • Report equipment hazards or product incidents as required and assume on‑call responsibilities during non‑business hours.
  • Complete required compliance training and maintain adherence to AdaptHealth’s Compliance Program.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • Experience in construction, general manual labor, military service, or equipment repair/maintenance.
  • Valid and unrestricted driver’s license in the state of residence.
  • For senior level positions: a minimum of two (2) years of work‑related experience and one (1) year in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated ability to repair or maintain equipment, solve problems with attention to detail, and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Physical capability to regularly lift up to 85 pounds, frequently lift up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 160 pounds; ability to perform moderate to heavy physical labor including stretching, bending, stooping, and crouching.
  • Must be able to drive independently, travel as needed, and effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with customers while demonstrating empathy and respect for privacy.
