Job Description

Position Overview

UMKC is seeking a creative, collaborative marketing strategist responsible for organizing, building, and leading a social influencer marketing strategy that aligns with overall university marketing. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Strategist in the Strategic Marketing and Communications division (MCom), this role is key in producing and delivering engaging student generated content to capture the attention of prospective and current students. The position supports recruitment efforts in Admissions and Enrollment Management while bolstering student retention initiatives in partnership with Student Affairs and Student Success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the planning and execution of social influencer marketing tactics.
  • Develop and deliver engaging student generated content for both prospective and current students.
  • Produce content in multiple formats, including vertical and horizontal video, with a high level of quality.
  • Analyze marketing data and adjust tactics as needed.
  • Deliver monthly reports to key marketing personnel and leadership.
  • Build effective relationships with students, campus colleagues, and partners to maximize collaboration.
  • Serve as the brand manager to ensure all work aligns with the UMKC brand strategy.
  • Provide support and direction for online and digital marketing efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience with at least 2 years of relevant experience.

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with strong attention to detail and deadline management.
  • A proven ability to work with diverse groups, build positive relationships, and communicate effectively.
  • Fluency in social media paired with experience in brand and marketing strategy.
  • Knowledge of CRM and digital strategies.
  • 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Understanding of AP style and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Proven track record of producing high quality digital media content.
  • Ability to proactively identify communications and marketing opportunities and develop creative solutions.

Benefits & Perks

  • Compensation: $52,915.20 - $55,000 per year, commensurate with education, experience, and internal equity.
