This position can be based in our global operations center in Brandon, FL (Tampa Bay area) or at one of our offices in Atlanta, Austin, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Jacksonville, Orlando, or Miami. We are seeking an Applied AI and Data Sciences Engineer to support the development and management of applied data sciences and artificial intelligence (AI) tools, platforms, projects, and related processes. The role focuses on implementing and enhancing the firm’s AI initiatives while collaborating closely with technology, data, and intelligence solutions teams. Compensation: Base salary range is $129,000 - $193,000/yr with bonus opportunities and an exceptional benefits package.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design, development, and ongoing support of applied data sciences and AI programs.
  • Assist in sourcing, evaluation, selection, and utilization of data sciences and AI tools.
  • Drive AI product development and adoption with a focus on usability and scalability.
  • Develop and implement Machine Learning, LLM, and AI-enabled products, including grounding, RAG, vectorizing, and related protocols.
  • Build cross-functional relationships with software and solutions engineers and business stakeholders to establish development standards and support business processes.
  • Evaluate use cases and document technical requirements.
  • Engage IT staff, vendors, and third parties to address system-level technical issues and manage integrations and upgrades.
  • Collect and communicate success metrics to measure the quality, quantity, and performance of data and AI solutions.
  • Develop configuration documentation and end-user guides; support training, onboarding, and user adoption programs.
  • Undertake special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to develop effective and collaborative relationships.
  • Champion for governance, change management, process improvement, and user adoption with initiative and creativity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with strong organizational and critical thinking abilities.
  • Proven track record in managing multiple complex assignments and projects from inception to delivery.
  • 2+ years’ experience as a data sciences professional applying AI tools and techniques; direct experience with GenAI, LLM fine-tuning, and knowledge graphs.
  • Experience building LLM workflows using cloud services such as Azure, Google Cloud, and AWS.
  • Strong proficiency in cloud data platforms, data sciences, application development, SQL, Apache Spark, Python, Microsoft Azure Data Factory, and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Familiarity with common AI/ML applications, data mining, statistical tools, scripting, and programming.
  • Willingness to learn about emerging Microsoft OneLake, Fabric, Power, and related concepts.
  • Exceptional proficiency with MS Office and Power platform for analyzing and communicating data-related concepts.
  • Solid understanding of the professional services landscape, including legal project management and practice management tools.
  • Experience in addressing the safety and ethical aspects of AI.
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and compliance requirements in the legal industry.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or Doctorate is strongly preferred.
